The body of a Merseyside man who had been missing for more than two weeks has been found in a Liverpool dock.

Thomas Burns, 25, of Kirkdale was last seen by his sister when he returned home from his job at Liverpool bar Popworld on 17 November.

His body was found in Stanley Dock in the early hours.

A police spokeswoman said a post-mortem investigation was due take place to establish the cause of his death which was "not believed to be suspicious".

Mr Burns' family contacted police over his disappearance on 17 November when they realised he was gone and had left his phone and wallet behind.

His father, Danny Burns, had said his son's disappearance was totally out of character.
