Paula Clinton murder: Man arrested over Aintree stabbing

A man from Aintree has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who was found stabbed to death in a Merseyside street.

Police discovered the body of 48-year-old Paula Clinton on Rugby Drive, Aintree, at about 16:45 GMT on Wednesday.

Police said the arrested 51-year-old is in hospital with a neck wound which is not thought to be life-threatening.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mrs Clinton died from multiple stab wounds.
