Burnt-out car linked to Maghull shooting

A burnt-out car has been found by police investigating a shooting on Merseyside.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the head on Hall Lane, Maghull, just after 16:10 GMT on Thursday.

Police believe he was shot by someone in a Mercedes car, moments after the car he was travelling in collided with it.

A Mercedes, which is believed to be stolen, was found on Harrops Croft, Bootle, in the early hours.

It has been taken away for forensic examination.

The area where it was found is also being examined.

Police said the investigation into the incident was continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact them.
