Widnes factory fire prompts smoke warning
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service the fire may continue for days
Householders are being warned to continue to keep doors and windows closed due to a plume of smoke from a fire at a warehouse in Widnes.
At its height more than 60 firefighters tackled the blaze which started at a paper and plastics recycling plant in Johnsons Lane at 21:35 BST on Sunday.
Cheshire Fire Service said the smoke was not toxic, but residents should keep it out of their homes.
A spokesman said the fire may take a few days to put out.
He added: "Fire crews remain at the scene and are doing all they can to fight the fire but there is still a large amount of smoke and this is likely to continue throughout the night and tomorrow."
The spokesman said the blaze was still causing disruption to roads in the surrounding area and advised people to avoid it.
