Ultrasound scan on giant python Bali in Chester Zoo
Vets at Chester Zoo have carried out their first ultrasound scan on a female giant python.
Bali, who measures 23ft (6.5m) long and is the biggest snake in Europe according to the zoo, was taken for her annual health check along with her first scan.
Vets managed to get a good view of her heart, which is halfway down her body. Experts say looking at Bali will also provide insight for people studying the human heart.
