Man dies after being knocked down in Liverpool

A man, believed to be in his 70s, has died after he was knocked down by a car in Liverpool.

Merseyside Police said the pedestrian was hit in Queens Drive near to its junction with Derby Lane, Stoneycroft just after 10:00 BST.

The man, who was hit by a Vauxhall Astra car, was taken to Fazakerley Hospital where he died.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
