Man cut free as cars crash into Bridge Inn pub in Chester

Crash scene Chester One person had to be cut free from their car

Three people were seriously injured when a collision between two cars saw them crash into a pub in Chester.

A Vauxhall Astra and a BMW X5 collided on Tarvin Road at about 06:57 BST on Sunday before hitting the Bridge Inn pub.

Firefighters had to cut free the Astra driver as he was trapped under the rubble in his car.

The man was taken to hospital along with a man and woman travelling in the other vehicle.

Cheshire Police want to trace a man believed to be travelling in one of the cars who could need medical help.

A police spokesman said detectives have urged this man to contact them as soon as possible.

Nobody at the pub was hurt but due to extensive structural damage the premises will be shut until it can be examined and repaired, said Cheshire Police.
