Party girl death: Boy arrested on suspicion of manslaughter

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the death of a teenage girl in Liverpool, police have said.

The 17-year-old from Everton was arrested over the death of Rose Farley, 15, from West Derby.

She had become unwell after attending a birthday party at the Silvestrian Social Club in Vauxhall on Friday.

The teenager and a 16-year-old arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs have both been released on bail.

Miss Farley was taken in an ambulance from her home in West Derby to Alder Hey Children's Hospital on Saturday. She died shortly after 05:00 BST.

A post-mortem examination has taken place but Merseyside Police said the cause of death had been withheld pending toxicology tests.

Police said the 17-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.
