Thousands of people turned out to welcome the Olympic torch relay to Chester on the 11th day of its journey.

The flame arrived in the city from North Wales carried by dozens of torchbearers including world champion gymnast Beth Tweddle.

Grand National-winning jockey Jason Maguire carried the flame to its final destination riding the Donald McCain Jr-trained horse Overturn.

Some 25,000 people attended an evening celebration event at Chester Racecourse.
