James McDonough charged over West Derby Christmas Day pub attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with a shooting at a Liverpool pub on Christmas Day.

James Kevin McDonough, 24, of Harper Road, Walton is due at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Police were called to the West Derby pub at about 10:15 GMT on Christmas Day following reports of shots.

A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with a leg wound.
