Wirral Council leader Steve Foulkes faces 'no confidence' vote
Calls for the Labour leader of Wirral Borough Council to step down will be discussed by councillors later.
A motion of no confidence in Steve Foulkes has been put forward by Conservative leader Jeff Green.
Mr Green ran the council until its leading Tory-Lib Dem coalition collapsed in May.
He believes the minority Labour council should form an all-party cabinet and has written to councillors urging their support.
The issue will be debated at a council meeting on Monday.
Mr Foulkes said he is committed to the need for all parties to work together to improve the administration.
