European Kite Buggy Championship at Hoylake beach

Competitors from across Europe are taking part in the European Kite Buggy Championships on a Wirral beach.

There are five different classes of craft, which can reach speeds of up to 60mph, taking part in the competition at Hoylake.

Around 70 kite buggy pilots from countries including the UK, Switzerland, Spain and Ireland will race across the beach until Friday.

The event was previously held at Hoylake in 2007.
