3D projection at Liverpool Pier Head buildings

The centenary of Liverpool's Royal Liver Building and the opening of the new Museum of Liverpool are being celebrated with a 3D projection event illuminating the city's waterfront.

3D Son et Lumiere, by Czech company The Macula, will project Liverpool's 800 year history on to the Pier Head buildings over three nights from 22 July till 24 July.

The free event, which is expected to attract thousands of people to Liverpool's waterfront, will be accompanied by musical performances.

Blues singer Connie Lush will perform on the Friday evening, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra on the Saturday night and local group 6ix Toys on Sunday.

The event is the first in the UK by The Macula company which created a 600th anniversary show for Prague's Astronomical Clock.
