Blackburn police inspector Mustaq Patala admits wife assault

A Lancashire Police officer has pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting his wife.

Insp Mustaq Patala, 33, was arrested as part of a domestic assault inquiry at his home in the Pleckgate area of Blackburn last year.

On Monday, he pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to two counts of common assault.

Patala, based at Greenbank Police Station, was released on conditional bail and will be sentenced on 15 July.
