Woman charged after boy, 12, stabbed on Merseyside

A woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a 12-year-old boy on Merseyside.

Police were called to a house in Wallasey at 0525 BST on Wednesday. They found the boy with stab wounds to his chest and shoulder.

Tracey Wickham, 33, of Brentwood Street, Wallasey, was arrested at the scene and charged overnight.

She appeared before Wirral magistrates but did not enter a plea. She was remanded in custody.

She is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on the week commencing 23 September.
