Man arrested over Clayton Vale attempted rape

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape after a woman was attacked in a nature reserve.

The 30-year-old woman was attacked while running in Clayton Vale, Manchester, on 29 July.

Another runner and a dog walker helped her fight off her attacker, who escaped on a bicycle.

Thanking the public for their "overwhelming reaction" to appeals about the attack, police said a 20-year-old man had been arrested.
