Garden body discovery leads to murder arrests

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the "sudden and tragic" death of a woman in Salford, police said.

The 49-year-old victim was found in the back garden of a house on St Heliers Drive on Sunday afternoon.

She had suffered cuts to the head and was declared dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being questioned by police.

Det Supt Jon Chadwick said: "A woman has died in sudden and tragic circumstances and we are determined to find out what led up to this."
