A hoard of more than 40 shells, a missile and other "prohibited weapons" have been seized from a house in Greater Manchester, police said.
The collection, including "antique or heritage weapons", were found at a house in Dain Close, Dukinfield.
A 76-year-old man was arrested and bailed on suspicion of possessing a prohibited firearm, a police spokesman said.
The seized ammunition is being examined by specialist officers.
Det Ch Insp Debbie Dooley said: "At this stage the weapons do not appear to have been collected for any other reason than as part of a hobby, but it does not detract from the seriousness that these weapons pose, particularly if they get into the wrong hands."
The collection was found when the house was searched on Wednesday, 9 July, as part of an "ongoing operation".
Greater Manchester Police are holding a gun amnesty lasting until Saturday, 26 July.
During that period, those surrendering firearms will not face prosecution for their illegal possession and can remain anonymous, police said.
