A memorial service is being held to mark a year since the death of a firefighter who lost his life while tackling a blaze in Manchester.

Stephen Hunt, 38, was among 60 firefighters called to the fire at Paul's Hair World, in the city's Northern Quarter, last July.

The service, at 14:00 BST at St Ann's Church, will be attended by Mr Hunt's family and colleagues.

A 15-year-old girl has appeared in court in connection with the fire.

The teenager, who cannot be named because of her age, is accused of committing arson with intent to endanger life.

She appeared at Manchester Youth Court last month and was bailed to appear at Manchester Crown Court at a later date.
