Man on historical child sex abuse charges in Manchester

A man has been charged with rape and 14 other historical sexual offences against children, police have said.

Alan Dawson, 63, of Urmston, Greater Manchester, is charged with the rape of a child under 16 and 14 counts of indecent assault on a female child under the age of 16.

The charges relate to four women and allegedly happened in the Didsbury area of Manchester during the 1960s and 80s.

He is due before Salford and Manchester City Magistrates' Court on 22 July.
