Woman has heart attack after Oldham house break-in

A 62-year-old woman had a heart attack after she confronted four burglars at her home in Oldham, police said.

The men broke into the house in Tandlewood Park, Royton, on Thursday. They ransacked the property until they found her in a bedroom and fled.

Greater Manchester Police said that the woman was in a stable condition at Wythenshawe Hospital.

PC James Mitchell said the victim "could quite literally have been frightened to death".
