A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman, who was dragged off the street and attacked in central Manchester.

The woman, 23, was returning home from a night out early on Saturday, when she was raped near the Great Northern Tower in Watson Street.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the man was arrested in Folkestone, Kent, on Wednesday.

Another man arrested in connection with the rape remains on police bail.
