A man has been hit by a tram and killed at a Metrolink station in Greater Manchester, police have said.

Greater Manchester Police said the 33-year-old was struck by the tram at Prestwich station at about 13:30 BST.

Tram services were earlier suspended between Whitefield and Crumpsall and delays were expected on the line for the rest of Monday.

A police spokeswoman said anyone with information about the man's death should get in touch.
