Man arrested after Harpurhey Gala Bingo hall shooting

A man has been held on suspicion of the attempted murder of a mother and son who were shot near a Manchester bingo hall.

The 22-year-old was picking up his 56-year-old mother from Gala Bingo in Harpurhey on 12 January when the shooting took place.

The woman was hit in the elbow and the man in the wrist.

Greater Manchester Police said a 31-year-old man had been arrested and remains in custody for questioning.
