Police officers investigated over rape report

Five Greater Manchester officers are to be investigated by the police watchdog over the handling of a rape complaint.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it was looking into allegations that a rape report was not investigated properly in 2010.

The IPCC said notices had been served on four detectives and a uniformed constable.

It said allegations included a concern that they had failed to provide adequate support to the victim.

Greater Manchester Police said it could not comment.
