Manchester city centre crash car lands on roof

Manchester crash Two people were injured in the crash involving a taxi and a Lexus

Two men are being treated in hospital after a crash between a taxi and a Lexus resulted in one car landing on its roof in Manchester city centre.

The collision between the red Lexus and silver Toyota Avensis taxi happened at about 10:30 GMT in Oxford Road.

The 24-year-old man driving the Lexus is in a serious condition and the 48-year-old man driving the Avensis has fractured ribs, police said.

The road has now re-opened between Brunswick Street and Booth Street East.

Officers appealed for anyone who saw the collision to contact them.
