Workman dies in Stockport double roof fall

A workman has died after falling from the roof of an industrial unit hours after a colleague was seriously injured in a similar fall.

The first man, aged 45, fell from the unit on Manchester Road, Heaton Norris, Stockport at 09:15 GMT on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

At 15:55 GMT that day a 42-year-old man fell from the same roof. He was taken to hospital where he died shortly after.

The Health and Safety Executive and Greater Manchester Police are investigating.
