Two men jailed over Heywood double stabbing

Two men have been jailed over a double stabbing in Greater Manchester.

Ryan Sandiford, 19, of Green Lane, Heywood, and John Hyland, 18, from Rochdale, admitted grievous bodily harm with intent at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.

They were charged after two men were stabbed at a disturbance in a house in Green Lane, Heywood on 26 July.

Sandiford was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison, while Hyland was jailed for eight years.

Both men had denied attempted murder.

Police said the attack had left both victims with serious injuries.
