Drug and money laundering arrests in Manchester raids
Thirteen people have been arrested over drugs and money laundering offences in a series of raids.
Greater Manchester Police said organised crime groups have been disrupted following the raids in Salford, Bolton, Bury, Wigan and Skelmersdale in Lancashire.
Those arrested are in police custody being questioned and searches of the addresses are ongoing.
Ch Supt Mary Doyle said organised crime causes misery for ordinary people.
She said the co-ordinated strike was "the end product of weeks of intelligence gathering by police officers in an effort to smash organised crime".
She added: "Our local communities have quite rightly had enough, and it is important that they feel able to give us information in confidence that we can use to continue our fight against this scourge."
She urged anyone with information about organised crime to contact police.
