Taxi passenger dies after Leigh crash that killed driver

A taxi passenger has died a day after a crash in Greater Manchester that killed the vehicle's driver.

Emma Houghton, 23, from Golborne, Wigan, suffered a fatal head injury the crash on Twist Lane in Leigh in the early hours of Saturday.

The 59-year-old driver of the silver Ford Mondeo taxi, Kenneth Grimshaw, from Leigh, died at the scene.

The 34-year-old man driving the other car, a silver Vauxhall Astra, suffered serious leg injuries.

He has since been discharged from hospital, police said.

Police are investigating how the crash happened and asking witnesses to contact them.
