Murder charge after woman stabbed in Levenshulme

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at her home in Greater Manchester.

The body of Aisha Alam, 49, was discovered by police at a house on Mayford Road, Levenshulme, at about 11:50 GMT on Friday, police said.

A post-mortem examination found she died from multiple stab wounds.

Aftab Alam, 52, of Mayford Road, Levenshulme, has been charged with her murder and is due to appear before magistrates in Manchester on Monday.
