TSB bank in Prestwich robbed on opening day

A branch of the new TSB bank has been robbed on its official opening day.

Two men wearing crash helmets threatened staff at the branch in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, at about 16:30 BST and escaped with money.

Greater Manchester Police said the men fled from the branch in Bury New Road using a car that was parked outside.

Some of Lloyds Banking Group, including all Cheltenham and Gloucester branches and all Lloyds banks in Scotland, have been switched to be TSB branches.

A police spokesman said nobody was hurt, it was not thought the men were armed and officers wanted any witnesses to contact them.
