Arrests over serious assault in Openshaw, Manchester

Four people have been arrested over an attack on a man in Greater Manchester which left him critically injured.
Police said the 54-year-old victim was found with serious injuries following an assault at a property in Cope Close, Openshaw on Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
A woman, 29, and three men, aged 32, 35, and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. The 47-year-old man has been bailed.
Det Ch Insp Andy Peach said: "We are keen to hear from any witnesses that may have seen the victim between [09:00 BST] and [14:50] Wednesday when police and paramedics were called.
"He is white, 5ft 11in tall, of medium build and with receding dark hair. He was usually seen wearing a beige baseball cap.
"He is of Polish descent and regularly frequented the Openshaw area and was a frequent visitor to Manchester city centre. He usually used the bus service to travel around."
