Men in court over 'party' assault in Moston, Manchester

Hillier Street North Police said the victim has been left with very serious, life-threatening injuries

Two men have appeared in court charged with assault and affray after a man was critically injured in a fight at a house party in Manchester.

Police said some people refused to leave the party and fighting spilled on to Hillier Street North, Moston at around 01:45 BST on Tuesday.

A 41-year-old man suffered a bleed on the brain and facial injuries.

Jake Roland, 20, and Cane Mill, 19, both from Moston, are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 12 September.

Mr Roland, of Hillier Street North, and Mr Mill were both remanded in custody by magistrates in Manchester charged with section 18 assault and affray.

Ch Supt Russ Jackson said the disturbance resulted in the victim being left with "very serious, life-threatening injuries".

Three other men, two aged 19 and a third aged 20, arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of assault have been bailed until 21 October pending further inquiries.
