Police have arrested two men on suspicion of helping a man wanted over the murder of a mother-of-two.

Michael Cope, 28, is wanted over the death of his ex-partner Linzi Ashton, 25, whose body was found at her Salford home on Saturday.

Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Tuesday night.

Police have also been given extra time to question a 25-year-old man arrested on the same charge on Monday night.

A £5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of Mr Cope and police warned anyone found to be aiding him would be prosecuted.

Police have also said anyone found who offered Mr Cope a place to stay could face eviction.

CCTV footage of Mr Cope at the Best One convenience store on Liverpool Road, in Eccles, on the evening before Ms Ashton's body was found, has been released.

A post-mortem examination found Ms Ashton died as a result of pressure to the neck and multiple injuries.

Ms Ashton was seen out in public with Mr Cope on Friday, police said.

She made an allegation of rape against him in April, and reported an assault by him in May.

Greater Manchester Police has referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
