Search for missing Manchester mother of six last seen in July

Kimberley Brown Police are set to search Birchfields Park in the hunt for Kimberley Brown

Police are searching for a mother of six who has been missing from her Manchester home since last July.

Kimberley Louise Brown, 38, was last seen at her home in Birchfields Road, Longsight, on 26 July 2012.

Detectives are planning to search her home and nearby Birchfields Park in an attempt to track her down.

They said concern for her has increased as two of her children, who do not live with her, have celebrated 18th and 21st birthdays since she disappeared.

Det Ch Insp Colin Larkin of Greater Manchester Police said: "We have been working with Kimberley's family, and they have been kept fully updated on the investigation.

"Not knowing where Kimberley is has obviously been upsetting and I understand their distress.

"Kimberley has met with some difficulties in her life and she may have decided to completely distance herself from her family and friends, but we cannot rule out she may have had an accident or come to some harm.

"Many people go missing for various reasons but the fact that Kimberley missed her children's birthdays heightens our concerns."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
