Chadderton stab death woman named as Farkhanda Younis, 30
A woman found stabbed to death at a house in Oldham, Greater Manchester, has been named by police.
Farkhanda Younis, 30, who was known to family and friends as Jabeen Younis, was found on Friday at the property in Bamford Street, Chadderton.
Her seven-year-old son was also in the house, police said.
A 20-year-old woman was arrested and bailed until 25 April pending further enquiries. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
Detectives do not believe there are any immediate concerns for the safety of the wider community.
A post-mortem examination found that Ms Younis died from stab wounds.
Det Ch Insp Pete Marsh who is leading the murder investigation said: "A team of detectives have been carrying out substantial enquiries to establish the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
"We have made significant progress with our investigation but this work is very much ongoing.
"Our thoughts remain with Farkhanda's family at this very distressing time and we are determined to provide them with the full answers around her untimely death."
