A charity walk around Greater Manchester in memory of two police officers killed on duty has raised £2,000.

PCs Fiona Bone, 32, and Nicola Hughes, 23, were shot in Hattersley on 18 September at a suspected burglary.

Ten officers, from Tameside and Oldham Division, began the 110 mile (177km) on Friday and ended earlier.

Walk spokesman Chris Hayden said it had raised £2,000 but there were still more donations to come.

The walk started at the Civic Hall at Uppermill, passing through Stockport, Altrincham, Hale and Culcheth.

The officers arrived in Wigan town centre on Saturday morning, before walking to Horwich and Ramsbottom.

During the evening and overnight they travelled through Denshaw before returning to Uppermill.

Money raised will go to the Care of Police Survivors charity.

Dale Cregan, 29, has admitted the officers' murders and is currently on trial at Preston Crown Court.
