Two charged over Wigan car keys stabbing

Two people have been charged after a man was stabbed 13 times by men demanding the keys to his Mercedes car, police have said.

The 59-year-old victim was attacked outside a relative's home on Worcester Avenue in Hindley, Wigan, on Sunday.

Lee James Henry Daniels and Kieran David Wright, both aged 26 and of Castleway, Hindley, Wigan, are due before Wigan and Leigh magistrates.

They are charged with assault, attempted robbery and burglary.

They are also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

The victim is recovering from serious injuries to his arms and face in hospital, police said.

Det Insp Graham Atherton said: "We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information about this attack to come forward, and we have not ruled out making further arrests."
