Murder probe after Travis Barber, 19, found dead in Salford

A murder investigation has started after a 19-year-old personal trainer was found dead at a house in Salford.

Officers went to the house on Light Oaks Road at 21:20 GMT on Sunday following reports of concern for the welfare of the man.

They found Travis Barber with multiple injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death.

Police said patrols have been increased in the area.

Det Supt Jon Chadwick said: "Travis was fairly new to the area and worked as a personal trainer in Stockport.

"I know residents will be alarmed by this incident, but I want to reassure the community that a thorough investigation is now taking place."
