Passenger dies after car hits wall in Bolton

A passenger has died after the driver of a car "lost control" and hit a wall in Greater Manchester, police said.

The silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling down Coal Pit Road in Bolton when the crash happened at 02:25 GMT on Sunday.

Khadar Nur, 25, suffered a head injury and died in hospital shortly after, police said.

The driver and two other passengers were also taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

'Feeling empty'

In a statement Mr Nur's family described him as "kind, considerate and gentle".

They added: "Khadar means everything to us and we are feeling empty."

Police said they are investigating the crash and appealing for witnesses.

A force spokesman said: "The driver lost control and collided with a wall - the car rebounded, continued down the road and finally came to a stop on Smithills Dean Road.

"We are investigating this incident to establish the exact circumstances leading up to this collision.

"Our thoughts go out to the family and we have a team of trained officers helping them get through this difficult time."
