M60 motorway van crash victim dies

A man has died after the van he was in overturned on the M60 motorway in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services were called to the road between Junction 19 and Junction 20, near Heaton Park, at about 06:10 GMT, after reports of a collision.

A police spokesman said officers had found a van "had been involved in a serious accident and was on its side".

He said efforts were made to safely free the man and he was taken to hospital, where he "sadly died".

The westbound carriageway, which was closed, has since reopened.

He added no other cars were involved in the incident.
