Severe weather in Greater Manchester and Cheshire

The snow and cold weather has caused disruption across Greater Manchester.
Trains between Wigan and Preston have been cancelled and replacement buses are in place between Warrington and Preston which will stop at Wigan.
Some buses from Queens Road in Manchester, Oldham and Bury were unable to run or routes were diverted.
Drivers were stranded overnight on the M6 near Wigan as 30cm (12ins) of snow fell. The motorway has now re-opened.
A spokesman for Virgin Trains said trains between Wigan and Preston were not expected to run until 20:00 GMT.
There are some alterations to train services in Manchester due to engineering work following a train fire in Salford on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Manchester Airport said the weather had caused minimal disruption to flights.
