Greater Manchester snow prompts school closures
The snow has not stopped Katie from Horwich from getting to the shops
More than 60 schools across Greater Manchester have closed early due to snow.
Two football matches on Saturday have been called off because of frozen pitches; Bury FC v Stevenage and Rochdale v Gillingham.
The Young Voices show featuring 7,000 children singing at Manchester Arena later has also been cancelled.
Manchester Airport said it has had a few flights cancelled due to weather at other airports but it remains open.
A spokesman for Northern Rail said it is running a normal service and was unaffected by snow.
The University of Bolton closed its doors at 12:00 GMT.
Meanwhile, Macclesfield Town FC are appealing for volunteers to help clear their pitch so Saturday's match against Kidderminster can go ahead.
