Woman released by police following Salford house fire

Fire damage on Baltic Street Five properties had to be evacuated during the fire on Baltic Street

A woman held after a fire which almost destroyed a Salford home has been released without charge.

The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of cannabis production following the fire on Baltic Street, Weaste, on Monday morning.

Police initially said they were investigating whether the building was being used as a cannabis farm.

Officers later said "no evidence was found of there being any cannabis production".

Five properties were evacuated during the blaze.

Police said they ere not seeking anyone else in connection with the fire.
