Manchester man charged with Whitworth Park attack

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a 41-year-old man in a park in Manchester.

The victim was found by police with serious head injuries in Whitworth Park, Rusholme, on 11 September.

He was taken to hospital and heavily sedated. Police said his condition has stabilised since the attack but he remains in Salford Royal Hospital.

Anthony Ellis, 24, from Chorlton on Medlock, is due before Manchester City Magistrates' Court later.
