Man found 'unconscious' in Bolton park

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after being found unconscious in a Bolton park, police said.

The man, aged between 45 and 50 years old, was found on a pathway at 21:45 GMT on Saturday near the junction of Bradford Street and Bromwich Street.

He remains in a "poorly condition". Officers have "an open mind" regarding the circumstances.

He is described as white, of slim build with grey hair, wearing cream jeans and a green jacket.

He had purple shoes and a blue and pink patterned jumper.

Det Insp Gary Smith said: "We have a number of detectives investigating this incident who are working to establish what has happened to this man."

Police have appealed for witnesses.
