Elderly woman hit by minibus in Greater Manchester dies

An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a minibus on a road in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to the scene in Longsight, Harwood, Bolton at about 16:50 GMT.

The pedestrian, in her 70s, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later, Greater Manchester Police said.

Road closures were put in place and diversions set up while police investigated the incident.
