Fraud charge Bolton magistrate appears in court

A Bolton magistrate has appeared in court charged with making fraudulent expenses claims of nearly £23,000.

Carlton Janson, of Bradford Park Drive, Bolton, is charged with two counts of obtaining property by deception and one of fraud by false representation between 2006 and 2011.

Mr Janson spoke only to confirm his name and address.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court bailed the 68-year-old to appear at Preston Crown Court on 23 January.
