Crash in Flixton when car hits tree leaves man dead

A 27-year-old man has died after the car he was a passenger in crashed into a tree in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to reports of a crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa at Chassen Road, Flixton, at 23:00 BST on Saturday.

Firefighters helped the driver and passenger out of the car and both were taken to hospital.

The driver suffered a serious chest injury and the passenger died from head injuries.

No other cars were involved in the crash, police said.
